We took the kids to the Brooklyn Museum yesterday. Their first museum trip ever. We spent a lot of time at the amazing fountain on the plaza….

And then we went inside and saw the most amazing installation:
Sun K. Kwak: Enfolding 280 Hours
she adheres black painters tape to the wall and then rips away some parts of it. It looks like smoke, like water, like air, like a cool breeze. It was amazing to sit in room and enjoy it. I feel like it might be a great inspiration for a quilt!

Mother’s Day was a week ago and I’m just finally getting around to posting about it. I’m really just getting around to posting anything at all on this blog. I’ve recently started reading a lot of crafty mom blogs and I decided that today was the day to jump into the fray. So here I am, posting at long last!
We spent Mother’s Day with the kids in the back garden of our little Brooklyn home… the kids were widening their ever expanding digging project and V and I spent the day putting in plants. The garden is finally coming together — take a look!

Narcissus… only one of these bulbs came up this year. Will put in more for next year.

The sweetest flower in our garden!

Our neighbor’s oak tree shades us all summer long and provides us with plenty of leaves to compost in the fall.

I have never seen this kind of fern before, but we all fell in love!
Mother’s Day… a little late!
